Fat dissolving injections: what to expect
Fat dissolving injections treat small pockets of fat that will not shift with diet and exercise, like a double chin or lower tummy. They are for shaping, not weight loss. Expect swelling for a few days and results over 4 to 8 weeks.
Is it right for you?
It works best when:
- You are already close to your ideal weight.
- The area is small and stubborn, such as the chin, bra line or lower stomach.
- You are over 18, and not pregnant or breastfeeding.
On the day
Your appointment runs in three parts:
- Consultation: we examine the area, go through your medical history and check you are a good candidate.
- Treatment: the area is cleaned and marked, then the solution goes in through a series of small injections.
- During: you may feel stinging or burning while the injections go in.
Afterwards
Swelling, bruising and tenderness are expected. Most people plan 5 to 7 days of social downtime, especially for the chin. Results show gradually over 4 to 8 weeks.
Sessions and prices
Usually 2 to 4 sessions for small areas like the chin, and 3 to 6 for larger areas, spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart. Prices at Haven are per session:
- Chin: £50
- Back or under-bra area: from £120
- Upper and lower stomach, or inner and outer thighs: from £150
